Take one teen with a learner’s permit. Fourth time behind the wheel. Add hairpin turn a block from home, a fire hydrant on the corner, overestimting the degree of the turn, a moment of panic. Crash.
Nobody was hurt. We all have to keep breathing. But man, this parenting stuff… it is not for the faint of heart. At all.

Ouch.
Yes, glad no one is in a neck brace, etc.! Thank goodness.
Car looks like it could use doctor, though. Yikes.

Ah, memories! I crashed through the garage door on my learner’s permit. Thought my foot was on the brake when it was on the accelerator. My mom was in the garage, but fortunately, I didn’t hit her.

Not in your new hybrid? The one you sacrificed 200 karmic goodwill points to register? I just want to know: did you make her feel terrible about the lack of attention and the expense blah blah blah. Or are you a better person than I?

YES the new hybrid, and I doubt I am a better person than ANYone, but I think she made herself feel terrible enough. We all feel terrible. My baby! Aughhh! (the car AND my girl)
Bustopher, I’m sorry but I laughed at your post. That would be a hard thing: crashing through the garage door AND hitting your own mother.
It’s making me contemplate a move to NYC so we can all just ride the subway.

My daughter had five accidents during her first year of driving. No one was ever hurt, but yikes, it was expensive.
Some years later, she still seems to drive into the occasional parked car.

So sorry about the car and the stress. I think your suggested remedy (a move to New York) is a wise one. When can we expect you?
