whisper.jpgGreat news for writers: Martha Alderson, The Plot Whisperer (or as I used to call her, the Plot Doctor), has a blog! Each post contains fabulous nuggets of wisdom for writers – topics like character consistency, the importance of climaxes (the story kind, dirty minded people!), and not letting your own writing get in the way of your story. Martha says:

Moral of the story with your reader in mind:
1.) Strive for meaning on the word, scene, and overall story level. Write the scenes moment-by-moment as clearly as possible as an invitation to the reader to sink deeper.
2.) Develop the character’s inner world as carefully as the outer one.
3.) Help the reader remember who goes with which name.

These things are really good to remember. Martha has been a huge help to me in developing one of my novels.  She’s got a super helpful book and she also does plot consultations via phone, anywhere in the world.  She’s a great resource for writers.
