There are a lot of changes going on around here. First of all, last week, my work office at Pact made a vertical move downstairs. We used to be in a 3rd-floor shared office, and now we are on the first floor, in our own private space. I am beside myself with happiness. I love my little office. I used to be in a windowless room that doubled as a storage closet for baby supplies (strollers, car seats and the like) and filing cabinets and photocopy paper and a lot of other Stuff. Now, I have a beautiful butter yellow room with not only a window that opens! with screens! but also a skylight!!!!!!! The quality of life has improved immensely. I am all happy and in decorating mode. Thinking about what to put on my walls and what nice things to bring from home. I have not begun serious camp-preparation work yet, but I have snuck down here to write and it is just lovely.
In other news, I am making a lateral shift over at Literary Mama. I’m moving from Fiction over to Creative Nonfiction, also known as CNF. So if you parental writer types are looking for a home for that compelling essay memoir thingy, send it over to me!! (at LM, of course) My column is not going to change. And we’re not moving our house. Thank goodness.
