I am so distracted today. I really can’t think of anything other than today’s elections. And I am weirdly fascinated by Fundrace 2008, a site I discovered (thanks to Frances over at Ghost Word) that shows political donations by zip code, name, address, whatever.
I am baffled by the person who gave $2300 each to Mitt Romney AND Hillary Clinton. Or the married couple where the guy maxed out to Giuliani, while the wife gave a smaller donation to Obama. I wonder if he knew she did that?
Overall, I was happy to see that my neighborhood is dotted with little blue donkeys. It isn’t necessarily what I would have guessed.

OMG. I AM NEVER going to donate to a political party–real names, addresses, and amounts are publicly listed on the net?!
On the other hand, my curiosity is satiated.

Wow, I can’t believe that information is so readily available. I now know that no one in my building is political enough to contribute money to any campaign. And also there are a lot of hidden Giuliani supporters in my neighborhood and they gave him _a lot_. *shudder*

I was really surprised, too, but the more I think about it the more I think it is a good thing. I think these things should be totally transparent. And I do think lots of people use their work addresses.

Very interesting website, wish my area was a little bluer, but VA came through for VA so I won’t quibble.
I hope all is well in your world, I’m positively disconnected from the online world.
